COMPANY
White Lake Dock & Dredge, Inc. specializes in environmental remediation, dredging, excavating, pile driving, waterfront development, and all forms of marine construction. Our capabilities cover land and water with a readily-transportable modern fleet of specialized marine equipment and our own excavating and treatment division. We have handled everything from private dock builds to EPA Superfund environmental projects and pride ourselves in creative problem solving. Our flexible equipment package allows us access to even the most remote project sites.
WLDDI has a solid history of completing environmental dredging projects of various types on time and within budget. Our experienced personnel, along with innovative equipment, methods, and processes, have enabled us to be leaders in this specialized field. In addition, we bring an effective and streamlined team to the table.
To undertake the majority of our dredging and capping work, we utilize a customized excavator with a 70 foot reach and 2.5 cubic yard capacity environmental bucket. Our trained operator utilizes a custom-tailored dredge positioning system to monitor the position of the bucket in real time, in both plan view and cross section. By incorporating both the pre-dredge and design template information, the operator is continuously informed on how much material to remove (or place) and to what extent. The positioning system is key to minimizing overdredge/overplacement and maximizing efficiency. Once dredged, sediments are typically placed into small material barges. During the loading process, admixture are typically added in layers to entrap any free water that will be present. At the completion of loading, the sediments are capable of passing paint filter testing and are typically directly loaded into over-the-road trucks for transportation to the final disposal location. There is typically no staging area for contaminated materials required to be constructed and maintained on shore.
In addition to our dredging fleet, we also own and operate two Mantis hydraulic crawler cranes. These unique cranes are readily transported and require little to no site set up time. The enhanced stability of the crawler crane allows for safe and efficient loading and unloading onto a floating plant in environments that would be nearly impossible with wheeled mobile cranes. We own and operate our own vibratory excavator/driver suitable for a wide variety of piling projects.
