Tannery Bay

Removal, treatment and disposal of over 80,000 cubic yards of contaminated sediments consisting of disposed leather hides, chromium, arsenic and mercury.
Tannery Bay was the first project completed under the Clean Michigan Initiative Contaminated Sediment Fund that has the goal to clean up more than 40 polluted areas around the Great Lakes. The site now has the MDEQ clean site approval.
